The unique material

• Bluecare suits are made using the new micro-fibre EXALON^TM instead of cotton.  Included in the weave of the cloth are carbon fibres to ensure a permanent anti-static effect.

• The very fine weave of the material gives a very smooth surface for excellent comfort.  As well as being very smooth, the material is permeable to water and water vapour and does not retain perspiration or heat.  The sleep-suits are soft, comfortable and feather light, causing no irritation to the skin even after physical exertion.

• All materials used in the manufacture of the suits have been tested to ensure that they do not cause skin irritation (this includes the dyes used).

• Care of the material is very easy.  Creams and ointments (as used during local treatment) are easily removed from the fabric when washed at 60°C.  Drying time is minimal and no ironing is required.

The tailoring

• To prevent irritation the stitching is on the outside of the suit or is shielded from the skin by wide seams.  The suits are tailored to a wide fit for comfort and freedom of movement and supplied in two tone blue to help feel cool and fresh.

• Ties at the wrists, ankles and waist can be adjusted according to comfort and fit.  All zips and press studs are nickel free and are encased in fabric according to the Oeko-Tex-Standard 100.

• Gloves, boots and non-slip boots are removable and replaceable.

 

The clinical results

• Bluecare suits were compared against cotton in a multi-centre study in Germany.

• Within one week there was a significant reduction in symptom scores, itching and sleeplessness.  Sleep comfort was noticeably better and frequency of waking was reduced.

• Patients reported that the Bluecare suits were more comfortable to wear, even after physical exertion.
